1990 Porsche RUF For Sale
Not Available
This "YellowBird" "Ruf-Rocket" was completely built by RUF GmbH in Germany in 1993 on a 964 C4 platform. It is in "show condition", maintained by Ruf experts all of its life with no expense spared. Built as a Ruf from the bodypan up, it's a genuine Ruf "YellowBird" built and sold by Mr. Ruf himself (not just a patchwork of installed Ruf parts as many claimed Rufs are). Ideal for Autocross or other race events, it is also completely street driveable. A video is available for serious buyers. This car was built at a cost of $315,000, Steve Beddor made worldwide news with the sure tracking All Wheel Drive "YellowBird" in Road and Track/Car and Driver and ESPN. History With the release of the CTR in 1987, Ruf started a tradition of 200+mph automobiles that has yet to be broken. The first of the Ruf CTRs quickly became known as the "Yellow Bird", a nickname given to reflect its bright yellow paintwork. The Yellow Bird is now known throughout 911 circles as one of the most remarkable Porsche road cars ever. The Yellow Bird CTR was brought forth just in time for Road & Track's 2nd running of the "World's Fastest Cars" tests. It was only 3 years earlier when a Ruf BTR had won the initial "World's Fastest Cars" with a 183mph run. Who knew what Ruf had in store for this year.... Many cars were run that day, including a Lamborghini Countach, Ferrari Boxer, and a couple Porsche 959s.
